The battery life of the Findster Duo+ modules depends on the mode you select. Here's how much they last and the factors that influence the battery life.
Here is the battery life you should expect, depending on the modes you can select in the Findster App. Please note that you can only switch between modes as long as your Pet is no farther than 2 yards (2 meters) from your smartphone.
GPS Location on
Up to 12 hours of continuous tracking. You'll be tracking your pet(s) location and their activity. Since Findster Duo+ is the only GPS pet tracker to allow true real-time GPS tracking, it produces more positional updates than every other GPS pet tracker available. Consequently, the battery of the modules will also drain faster than other devices, which produce less (and less accurate) location updates. Please note that the battery life depends on several factors (see below).
GPS Location off
Up to 7 days. This mode turns off the GPS, so you'll only be tracking your pet(s)' activity and not their location. It is ideal for when you have no need to track your pet(s)' whereabouts, as this mode consumes a lot less battery. The activity will be tracked even when the Bluetooth is off.
Factors that influence the battery life
The battery life may also be affected depending on the environment you're using your Findster Duo+:
- Connection range - the battery lasts longer if there are not many obstacles (or any obstacles at all) between the Guardian and the Pet modules. If the modules are too far away from each other, the battery will drain faster in order to hold on the connection between them.
- GPS accuracy - if you're having a great GPS signal, the battery will last longer as it won't need to scan for many references in order to acquire a position. On the other hand, if the GPS signal is weak, the GPS will keep processing the information in order to obtain an accurate position, which will drain the battery fast.
- Pet's activity - the higher is the level of activity by the pet, the larger will the amount of battery drained be.
